Every weekend in July, August and September. The magic of a theatre where the setting is nature. Classic and modern plays, for children and adults. Its special feature: the stage set on the water, where the natural scenery is integrated into original stagings.
The theatre was designed and built by Yves Bienaimé . It is located in the heart of the Potager des Princes in the Parc de la Faisanderie. The decorative trellis tiers are reminiscent of 18th-century fireworks. The stage opens onto the pond and the actors enter and leave through the park.
The Theatre contains 199 seats.
The La Scène au Jardin Festival was created in 2008 on the initiative of Virginie Bienaimé, actress and director, and welcomes professional theatre companies whose shows blend into the natural setting of the Théâtre de la Faisanderie. This setting allows for original and daring staging, with even the most theatrical situations taking on a cinematic flavour.
