From 24 January to 31 December

The major restoration work at the Château-musée de Chaalis provides a unique opportunity to admire the greatest masterpieces in this collection, two paintings by Giotto, in a never-before-seen context. These two early 14th-century monuments, acquired by Nélie Jacquemart, will be displayed alongside works painted by Giotto's pupils and admirers and collected by the Duc d'Aumale (including a painting formerly given to the Duc d'Aumale, from which the room takes its name).

For the occasion, the Musée Condé's Giotto cabinet, one of the rooms in the recently restored Logis wing, will finally be welcoming Giotto, the father of Western painting!
