06 October

Take advantage of this monthly meeting to discover the Gallo-Roman arenas of the 1st century, usually closed to the public. Semi-excavated, they constitute a unique site in Picardy, and could hold around 8,000 spectators.

Walk along the Gallo-Roman wall of the 3rd century, built to protect the city against invasions and most of which still remain.
Then return to the Museum of Art and Archeology where our lecturer will guide you through the remains of a 2nd century habitat and the base of the 3rd century rampart, as well as among the collections of Gallo-Roman archeology (base in bronze, dedicated to the Emperor Claudius 1st century, remarkable exhibition of ex-voto from the temple of the forest of Halatte).

Departure and tickets at the Senlis office of the Tourist Office.
Booking is recommended.
