L'AGRION DE L'OISE is an association set up in 2013 to promote an objective image of insects among the general public, through awareness-raising, information and training initiatives aimed at improving knowledge of insect biodiversity and their interactions with our everyday lives (pollination, recycling of organic waste, food chain, biocontrol, etc.).

L'AGRION DE L'OISE deals with insects by organising events such as conferences, entomological and photographic outings, photo competitions, an entomological documentary film festival, the "Notes d'Insectes" concert, art exhibitions, etc.

Since 2014, L'AGRION DE L'OISE has been organising its "Insects of France" photo competition, in which many amateur photographers from the Oise region, but also from all over France, are now taking part. The competition is launched every year on 1 June. Entrants can send digital files of three photos until midnight on 10 September. From more than 300 photos received, a jury - made up of elected representatives, insect specialists and experienced photographers - selects 24 photos, including those of candidates under 18. It then awards the Jury Prizes for "adults" and "young people". The anonymised photos were then displayed in a 45 x 30 format for the People's Choice Award for one week in the shopping mall of a shopping centre in the Oise region. More than 1,500 people voted in 2023.

L'AGRION DE L'OISE is pleased to present for the first time a collection of the winning photos from ten years of competitions (2014 to 2023): 1st Prize from the Public, 1st Prize from the "Adult" Jury and 1st Prize from the "Youth" Jury.

The exhibition, which is free and open to all, is on show - with the support of the Conseil départemental de l'Oise - in the visitor centre of the Parc Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Ermenonville from 2 July to 31 August during the park's opening hours, Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm.

The 12th edition was launched on 1 June 2025 and, as in previous years, candidates have until 10 September to send in their photos.
