Exhibition "Je m'endorm au bord du monde pour réveiller ce qui disparaît" at the Galerie Francès in Senlis

Galerie F. is pleased to present Je m'endorm au bord du monde pour réveiller ce qui disparaît, a new solo exhibition by Wieslawa Nowicka.

At the crossroads of landscape, dream and memory, Wieslawa Nowicka's work invites us on a sensory, poetic and engaging journey. Part of the multidisciplinary Sleepy Conversations project initiated during a residency in Norway in 2024, this body of work explores the profound links between body and environment in an age marked by acceleration and disappearance.

Paintings, engravings and videos sketch out a suspended world, populated by dozing bodies and silent landscapes. Sleep becomes a space of withdrawal and reconnection: a gesture of disconnection to get closer to the living. The artist's approach is both contemplative and engaged, reflecting on the fragility of our ecosystems and the urgency of climate change.

Based in Paris, Wieslawa Nowicka is developing an interdisciplinary practice rooted in sensitive attention to the natural world. She recently completed a residency in Norway (LKV - Trondheim), and will continue this project in autumn 2025 in Finland, as part of a residency at the Kulttuuri Kauppila Art Center.
