Mirror, mirror, mirror!

Following on from the warlike cries of Le Cid, Le Menteur is Pierre Corneille's final comedy for the stage. Partly autobiographical, the play introduces Dorante, a whimsical young man who embroils those around him in a love story full of misunderstandings. But the young man loves to deceive everyone: an inveterate liar and compulsive lover, he confronts everyone with their own mask!

In a colourful and inventive production, Julia Vidit takes us on a collective quest to untangle truth from falsehood. A cascade of lies and smoke and mirrors: this baroque gallery of characters continues to question the relationship between men and women and our own social conventions.
