Enter the France's only nail factoryClouterie Rivierre, based in Creil, near Chantilly and Compiègne since 1888 and discover a absolutely unique know-howpractised on machines over 100 years old for some!

The smell of oil and hot metal, the hammering of machinery on iron, the light streaming through the shed roofs... you'll enter an atmosphere worthy of a Zola book! The Clouterie Rivierre has also been used for several films!

During the guided tourYou can meet the employees and learn more about the various stages in the manufacture of more than 2,800 references of spikes and nails fashioned from the 325 vintage machines.

The weekly guided tour takes place every Wednesday (booking strongly advised), at 2pm and lasts around 1? hours. Recommended for children aged 5 and over.

During the school holidays workshops are organised for children (allow 3 hours: visit + workshop).

GOOD TO KNOW

 – Closed shoes trainers for safety (MANDATORY)

 - The plant is neither heated nor air-conditioned, so adapt your clothing to the weather and take something to drink if necessary.

 - For greater comfort, remember to bring earplugs or headphones for the visit to the nail machine room.

 - The machines in operation are noisy, so we strongly advise against taking children under 5 on the tour.
