The Ermenonville forest is one of the three forests of the Oise Pays de France Regional Natural Park. Extending that of Chantilly, it extends over 3300 ha. Oaks, beeches, Scots pines cover mainly poor and sandy soils.
Scots pine, introduced to the site in the 19th century, is today the dominant species of this forest massif. It represents nearly 1500 ha.
