Azure blue, the Sainte-Barbe pond offers a colorful break for a walk near the river. There is also a fishing site. This former gravel pit is now a privileged natural space for the reproduction of water birds and a peaceful stopover for migratory birds that can be admired from the banks. The town is part of the Oise-Pays-de-France Regional Natural Park. to preserve its natural and cultural heritage.
This pond was baptized "Sainte-Barbe" because she is the Patron Saint, among others, of the quarrymen who has been the main economic activity of the village since Antiquity. You can discover the history of stone extraction and these quarries by visiting the Maison de la Pierre du Sud de l'Oise located in the main street of the village. From the pond, you can also reach the Pont de Saint-Leu to continue your walk on the banks of the Oise and reach the Leisure Center and the Nautical Base. The pond is on the route of the GR11 and the hiking circuit named "Sur les Pas des Bâtisseurs".
